Domestic Violence Drawing

Making Memories, Fun With Mum

Funded by BBC Children In Need.

We were able to do this three year project after BBC Children in Need accepted our bid for funding in 2011.

We wanted to help our women members and their children to replace old, damaging and bad memories with new, healing and happy memories that most ‘normal’ families experience and take for granted.

We have done a number of trips to the seaside and the zoo, organised Christmas, Easter and Halloween parties and even managed to take everyone along to a pantomime at a local theatre.

All at no cost to our mums and their children!

Give it Sum

Funded by the Robbie Williams Foundation.

Our Give it Sum project was all about giving children who have been in violent or abusive households their own ‘little’ voice, and giving them a chance to explore their experiences through creative activities.

Through this project, the children formed their own offshoot organisation called ‘Little Voices’.

The progress they made was really remarkable.

Many of them went from being unable to leave their mum’s sides at the start of the project, to performing on stage in the ‘Little Voices’ talent show after doing the workshops.
